Loganberries are a cross between a blackberry and red raspberry. They were a chance cross created in 1883 in Santa Cruz, California by Judge J.H. Logan. He had two types of blackberries next to an old variety of raspberry which flowered and fruited together, and it evolved into the Loganberry hybrid. They are very rare and hard to grow. Loganberries are super juicy and have tart-sweet flavor. Excellent for sauces and cobblers.
